His techniques are nothing short of sheer brilliance. Which one is superior, and can the two exist separately? Padmini who needed the best of the two men.

He tells Bhagavata that on the way Hayavadhana left him alone and he returned back. But did not delve into as much depth of the subject individuality, personal identity as I expected it to be. Their relations get complicated when Devadatta marries Padmini. She is not for the likes of you. My area of specialisation does not cover theatre. The idea of Ba I didn’t like the plot tbh but there’s a reason why I’m giving this book 4 stars, which I believe it definitely deserves.

Talk of old Though it would be very unfair to judge a play from its written transcript, rather than seeing the performance on stage, I might add that I’ve tried to picture the characters in my head except for their faces. Although the final resolution is quite shaky and abrupt, the mix of clever dialogues and witty storyline make for an engaging read. If you like to write scripts, then you should definitely read this play.

While they are arguing, the horse namely Hayavadana enters the stage who has a head of the human and body of a horse. After some months Padmini becomes pregnant. The primary story is about a man with a horse’s head seek I usually am not mesmerised by Indian dramas but this one turned out to be really good.

Feb 07, Sharad added it. He continues to amaze me with that proficiency even in plays which are based on folktales. You can’t talk of Girish Karnad without mentioning the themes. Since folktales tie the practical and esoteric in a narrative, it can become difficult to refine the layers in characters of such tales portrayed in form of a play and yet gext the essence of that tale.

I wonder if seeing this on stage or studying it in the classroom would’ve made me like it more. There are no discussion topics on this book yet.
